一位美國的洋人是ICBI的會員，被ICBI告知可以向我請教禪法的問題，所以他向我尋求了禪法的簡介，他說：

I was told that you were willing to give Ch'an instruction over e-mail. My name is Daniel Scharpenburg. I am a member of the ICBI and I live in America. I would like to receive Ch'an instruction from you.

Dear Members

Master Shi Da Ji of Taiwan has inherited a combined Tiantai-Ch'an lineage. As a Member of the International Ch'an Buddhist Institute (ICBI), and as a Buddhist master who is bilingual, (English-Chinese), Master Shi Da Ji has kindly offered to give Ch'an instruction through email to practitioners throughout the world. He is the spiritual director of the Great Calm Institute and has written for the ICBI eJournal:
